ICE Agents Raid Bay Area 7-Eleven Stores (January 2018)

In early January, the Federal Immigration & Customs Enforcement office targeted six 7-Eleven stores in the Bay Area to investigate the citizenship of workers and employees of the franchise. Immigration lawyer Spojmie Nasiri was interviewed by KTVU to talk about these ICE raids and their impact on immigrant communities.

 

Reaction to Trump’s Speech to Muslim Nations (May 2017)

In 2017, East Bay immigration attorney Spojmie Nasiri served as the president of the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). After President Donald Trump addressed Muslim leaders, she was interviewed by NBC Bay Area about the tone of the speech, and how, despite the more conciliatory tone, the speech did not undo the rhetoric and policies of the administration.
